Stretching objects using the mouse

When you stretch an object, you resize its horizontal and vertical dimensions unproportionally. You can stretch objects interactively by dragging the horizontal and vertical selection handles using the mouse.

Using the mouse, you can stretch an object by dragging its selection handles horizontally or vertically.

To stretch an object horizontally or vertically using the mouse

1 Select the object with the Pick tool.

2 Drag one of the side selection handles — inward to decrease the size of the object, or outward to increase it.

To stretch an object from its center

1 Select the object with the Pick tool.

2 Hold down SHIFT, and drag one of the side selection handles.

• To stretch an object in increments of 100%, hold down CTRL as you drag

a side selection handle.

To stretch an object vertically and horizontally at the same time, hold down ALT as you drag one of the corner selection handles.
