Appearance of Depth

The Amount slider does just what is says, it controls the strength of the applied texture. Larger file sizes will need a higher setting and vice versa. In most cases the default amount is too strong, 1 suggest you try 50% and use the Edit> Fade command to fine-tune if necessary. Figures 6.6, 6.7 and 6.8 show three settings of the Amount slider.

Picture, controls the balance of the picture in relation to the texture. At the minimum setting the picture is virtually hidden by the texture. You can usually leave this on the default 100%.

The Shine slider increases or decreases the amount of the highlights. Use this if the picture looks a bit dull after the texture has been applied.

The Reflection slider moves the picture towards gray at the centre point, at the far end only the texture is visible. You can usually leave this on the default setting of zero.
